Barcelona Femeni secured another 3 points in Liga F yesterday following their huge win over Granadilla Tenerife. The Blaugrana routed their opposition 7-0 at the Estadi Johan Cryuff with Alexia Putellas and Fridolina Rolfo getting their name on the scoresheet in their first start since their return from injury.

Fridolina Rolfo opened the scoring for the champions with a sumptuous header in the 8th minute after latching on to a cross from Caroline Graham Hansen.

Claudia Pina followed suit, scoring the team’s second goal in the 14th minute after being assisted by AlexiaPutellas. The captain dispossessed a Tenerife defender close to the opposition box and laid the ball to Pina to score with a well-driven low shot into the bottom corner.

In the 21st minute, Caroline Graham Hansen scored Barcelona’s third goal with a beautiful shot into the top corner. A corner kick kept the Norwegian forward on the left flank for longer than usual where she eventually got the ball in the box before firing a shot into the top corner.

Claudia Pina got her brace in the 34th minute, sending a beautiful curler into the top corner after being assisted by Irene Paredes.

In the 41st minute of the game, Alexia Putellas scored with a right-footed low shot after being assisted by Caroline Graham Hansen.

Marta Torrejon wrapped up a wonderful first half for Barcelona with a header that creeped into the back of the net after connecting with a cross from Irene Paredes.

Barca Femeni headed into the tunnel at halftime with a six goal advantage and the game well beyond salvaging for the opposition.

The second half was not filled with as much goal-mouth action as the first but both sides tried to score and it took a moment of brilliance from both keepers to keep the scoreline level until the 69th minute when Barcelona scored another goal.

In the 68th minute, the Tenerife goalkeeper made an outstanding save denying Marta Torrejon a brace from close range.

A minute later, an own goal saw Barcelona record their seventh goal of the game after a less exciting second half.

Two minutes later, Cata Coll was called into action for Barcelona to prevent Tenerife from scoring and keep Barcelona’s clean sheet.

The game ended 7-0 in favor of the Catalan side who remain 9 points clear at the top of the Liga F standings after playing 20 games.
