The Netherlands women’s national team star participated in the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where she scored two outstanding goals against Vietnam during the group stage and also scored the goal that guaranteed her nation’s spot in the knockout stages. A Spain side, which included nine of her new teammates, eventually eliminated The Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Brugts played the previous three seasons with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, where she started her senior professional career in 2020. She participated in 15 league games for the team last season, during which she scored eight goals.
In her first words in a Blaugrana shirt, Brugts said, “It’s a dream come true. I played here two years ago [in the Champions League] with PSV, and now it is such a proud moment to realize I am joining this club. I am so happy and proud of myself.” “It has always been my dream club; it has been in the family. With the history they have and, of course, with how they have performed over the last few years, they are the best in Europe and in the world in my eyes. ” They [won the Champions League] twice in the last three years; it’s insane; it’s not normal. Hopefully, we can win a lot more trophies. I would like to experience that.”
