Barcelona Femeni World Cup heroines honored at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

Barcelona honored the female players who participated in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in front of the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Before the Barcelona male team played against Sevilla in La Liga, fifteen Barcelona Femeni players were presented to the home fans in recognition of their outstanding performances in the recently concluded Women’s World Cup.

Barcelona Femeni players won 12 medals in total in the tournament: 9 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and a bronze medal. The Spanish team that ended up winning the trophy for the first time in their history featured nine Blaugrana players, of whom two have moved on to play for other teams during the transfer window.

Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati, Irene Paredes, Ona Batlle, Mariona Caldentey, Cata Coll, and Salma Paralluelo were the World Cup winners present at the Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze, silver medalists for England, were also present, as was Fridolina Rolfo, who won the bronze medal with Sweden. Nigerian forward Asisat Oshoala and Dutch midfielder Esmee Brugts were also present.
