Barcelona Femeni confirmed the exit of top striker Asisat Oshoala to NWSL side Bay FC on Friday. The forward has had little playing time with Barcelona this season, and her absence from the matchday squad in Barcelona’s recent games sparked rumors of a possible transfer for the Nigerian forward.
Her move was confirmed by the club on Friday when an announcement was issued stating the agreement with NWSL side Bay FC for the forward in a deal estimated to be around 150000 Euros.

Oshoala, who spent 5 seasons at Barcelona was the club’s topscorer in the League for the past two seasons, winning the Pichichi award in the 2021/2022 season. The forward also scored 7 goals in 11 games this season for Barcelona before her January exit. Oshoala scored a total of 107 goals in 149 appearances for Barcelona Femeni, making her the club’s fourth-highest goalscorer in history, putting her behind Alexia Putellas, Jennifer Hermoso, and Sonia Bermudez.
The Nigerian issued a farewell message on her Instagram page, bidding goodbye to the club. In her message, Oshoala stated that “Barça will always hold a special place in my heart. I will carry with me the memories, lessons, and friendships that I have gained during my time here. Thank you for everything; you have given me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will always be a proud representative of this incredible club.”.
