Barcelona Femeni once again secured the services of one of her greatest midfielders, Patri Guijarro, yesterday when she signed a contract that will keep her at the Estadi Johan Cruyff for another four years.

Over the years, the midfielder has proven to be a very important player for the Catalan side and has played in different positions in the middle of the park. The Spanish midfielder played as a defensive midfielder two seasons ago but was deployed in a more advanced role last season with the addition of Keira Walsh and the extended absence of Alexia Putellas due to injury.Β
The 25-year-old scored seven goals and assisted eleven in all competitions last season. However, her most memorable moment would be the infamous comeback against Wolfsburg in the UEFA Womenβs Champions League final that saw Barcelona win their second European title. She came clutch at the start of the second half and drew Barcelona level against Wolfsburg in Eindhoven, scoring two goals in two minutes to set the stage for a Blaugrana comeback.
The Mallorca-born star joined the Blaugrana in 2015 as a 17-year-old and has since become a key player in the Barcelona squad. Barcelona will consider themselves lucky to have her services secured until 2027.
