Barcelona Femeni were utterly rampant in front of goal in their Liga F game against Levante Las Planas. It was the team’s first game since the players returned from the Christmas break, and it was super exciting. Showcasing dominance in possession and ruthlessness in attack, the league leaders thumped Levante LP 9-1 in front of their home fans at the Estadi Johan Cryuff.
It took just five minutes for Salma Paralluelo to open the scoring on the night with an easy finish at the far post following a cross from Caroline Graham Hansen. Mariona Caldentey doubled Barcelona’s lead from the penalty spot after being brought down in the box.
Aitana Bonmati combined with Caroline Graham Hansen to grab Barca Femeni’s third goal in the 28th minute with a brilliant turn and a low shot on goal. The Norwegian forward got her name on the scoresheet right on the stroke of halftime to put Barcelona four goals ahead in the first half.
Claudia Pina and Patri Guijarro opened the scoring in the second half after scoring a minute apart from each other, with the former assisting the latter for her stunning screamer from the edge of the box. Allegria Pollack got a consolation goal for the visitors in the 63rd minute following an error from Ingrid Engen.
Vicky Lopez and Asisat Oshoala came off the bench to score two late goals for the Blaugrana in the dying minutes of the game, with Patri Guijarro bagging her brace in between both goals.
