Injury Update: Oshoala to miss the match against Atletico, as Mariona returns from injury

FC Barcelona Femeni Injury Update

Barcelona’s leading goalscorer in Liga F this season, Asisat Oshoala is out of the squad list against Atletico Madrid. The club’s official Twitter page issued the release earlier today announcing that the Nigerian forward has been ruled out of tomorrow’s match due to discomfort in the left groin.

With 19 league goals to her name this season, Oshoala who is currently the second player with the most goals in Liga F this season is set to miss tomorrow’s match against Atletico Madrid.

Shortly after releasing the news of Oshoala’s absence due to injury, the club announced the return of Mariona Caldentey from injury. The Barcelona number 9 has also been given the medical green light and she ended up making the squad list announced earlier today. After appearing last and scoring a goal in a 7-0 win against Real Betis on the 5th of February, 2023 in Liga F. The 27-year-old forward hasn’t appeared in a game for Barcelona due to injury, but she might make an appearance in tomorrow’s match after her timely recovery.

Mariona’s return from injury serves as a massive boost for the team after the news of Oshoala’s absence.

We wish Oshoala a quick recovery and welcome back Mariona to the team.
