Barcelona Femeni had a resounding win over Granada yesterday in their sixth Liga F game of the season. The league champions put six goals past the opposition in their 6-1 win over Granada.

Patri Guijarro, Ona Batlle, Salma Paralluelo, Mariona Caldentey, and a brace from Asisat Oshoala helped Barcelona Femeni secure all three points.

Here are a few things that were noticed during the game:

Another convincing win at home

Once again, Barcelona Femeni put up an amazing performance coupled with lots of goals at the Estadi Johan Cryuff. The Bluagrana have been struggling with their goalscoring form away from home, but they haven’t failed to show their lethality in attack in home games.

The 6-1 win over Granada is the second home game where Barcelona have put six past their opponents this season, with the 6-0 victory over Valencia being the first.

Oshoala brace

In her first game as a starter this season, Asisat Oshoala scored a brace in Barcelona’s win over Granada. The Nigerian forward, who had been regularly benched in favor of Alexia Putellas since the start of the season, struck twice in two minutes to get her tally to three goals in the Liga F this season.

Ona and Salma combination

With Fridolina Rolfo out on a long due to injury, the responsibility of a left full-back has fallen on the shoulders of Ona Batlle. Since the start of the season, the Spanish star has taken to the left flank like fish to water and has even contributed to a few goals and assists.

In the game against Granada, Ona Batlle and Salma Paralluelo showed telephatic understanding and caused all kinds of trouble for the Granada defense down the left flank. Both players ended up getting their names on the scoresheet before the latter was substituted.

Quality in squad depth

Following the announcement of the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage fixtures, head coach Jonatan Giraldez rotated the squad quite heavily against Granada. However, the rotation was not enough to disrupt the team’s rhythm and style of play.

Last night’s showing proves that there is enough quality in the Barcelona Femeni squad to compete this season.

Barcelona finished the game 6-1 on the night and secured all three points to maintain their position at the top of the table. Due to the upcoming international break, Barcelona will not be in action again until November 5, when they play Sevilla at home.
