The Blaigrana were disqualified from the competition last season after fielding an ineligible player, denying them the chance of winning the Spanish domestic cup in an all conquering season that saw them crowned as champions of Spain and Europe.
Eligibility in the new season has thus fueled the incessant hunger to reclaim the trophy they lost last season. The Catalans, who defeated Fundacion Albacete 6-0 in the round of 16 now have Sevilla blocking their path to the trophy in the quarterfinals.
