The opening game of the season that was postponed as a result of the players’ union strike is finally set to take place. Barcelona Femeni will continue the defense of their league crown with a match against Valencia on Matchday 1. The defending champions will be playing their first home game in the league this season in front of their home fans at the Estadi Johan Cryuff.
After a transfer window that saw the Blaugrana lose first-team players like Geyse Ferreira, Laia Codina, and Ana Maria Crnogorcevic, the Catalan giants, who were winners of the league last season, would be looking to kick off their first match at home this season with a win as the race for the Spanish domestic title continues on Thursday.
New signings Ona Batlle and Esmee Brugts would be playing in front of the home crowd for the first time.
Matchday Squad
The squad list for the Barca Femeni players that will be available for the clash against Sevilla, has been released by the club. The list can be found on the club’s official Twitter account and other official media pages.
