Despite resting some of their key players, Barcelona Femeni still proved unplayable for the Segunda Division side in their Copa de la Reina clash. The Blaugrana cruised to a 6-0 victory away from home, with six different goal scorers in the game.

Guilia Dragoni produced a masterpiece in the first half, showing the exact reason she was selected to replace the rested Aitana Bonmati. The young Italian midfielder’s constant pressure on the opposition finally paid off when she got her name on the scoresheet in the 20th minute, scoring her first goal for the senior team. Dragoni fired an unstoppable shot from outside the box to find the top corner of the net.

Another young player scored Barcelona’s second in the 35th minute as the Liga F side sought to bury the game and secure their win. Martina Fernandez was in a position to strike home Barcelona’s second goal of the affair. Albacete’s failure to deal with a Barcelona corner kick ended up with the young defender sending a right-footed volley into the back of the net.

Two minutes later, Asisat Oshoala got on the scoresheet herself as she scored Barcelona’s third goal. The Nigerian forward was given her first start in a while and duly repaid the coach’s faith in her abilities. Oshoala received the ball on the left flank and danced her way into the penalty box before curling a beautiful shot into the back of the net.

Both sides went into halftime with the scoreline 3-0 in favour of Barcelona. However, there was more to come from the troublesome visitors, whose affinity for goals continued into the second half of the game.

Barcelona Femeni broke free on a counterattack, with Keira Walsh’s long pass finding Esmee Brugts on the flanks. The Dutch raced into the opposition’s box and delivered a sumptuous cross into the path of Ona Batlle, who finished with aplomb in the 55th minute.

As a reward for her struggles in front of goal since the start of the game, Claudia Pina got her goal in the 76th minute after finishing Lucia Corrales’s cross at the far post.

Mariona Caldentey wrapped up the game in style for Barcelona when she dazzled in the box, juggling the ball in the box before firing home in the 85th minute.

The game ended 6-0 in favor of the visitors, who have successfully secured qualification into the quarterfinals of the competition. Barcelona Femeni’s next game comes up against Real Madrid on January 17, when both teams clash in the semifinals of the Supercopa de Espana.
