Real Sociedad 2-5 FC Barcelona Femeni: Player Ratings

FC Barcelona Femeni had already been crowned champions of Liga F last weekend. But the team still has a couple of goals they aim to achieve individually and collectively before the season ends.

For one, the team aims to have a 100 percent win record for the second season in a row. The team has not tasted defeat this season, and the last time they came to play here last season, they put nine goals past the home team.

The FC Barca Femeni top scorer this season, Asisat Oshoala, is still in the race for the Liga F golden boot. and got a goal today, cutting the lead to four goals.

In the first half of the game, every time the Barcelona Femeni got on the ball they looked like they were going to score a goal. The home team was defending very deeply, fighting off the Barca Femeni attack. But, they were blown away in the first half by FC Barcelona’s women’s brilliance.

Barcelona Femeni raced into a 4-0 lead in 32 minutes of the first half before the home team got a consolation goal back. It was Patri who scored the first, followed by Oshoola, Bonmati, and Caroline Graham Hansen, who got into the action as well. It was beginning to get embarrassing for the home team after the fourth goal.

Barcelona headed for victory number 27 and got it. The home team made a double change at halftime, but the damage was already done in the first half.

Real Sociedad 2 vs 5 FC Barcelona Femení was an interesting and attacking game as both teams did not shy away from playing from an attacking point of view, and it was a thrilling and entertaining encounter that ended with seven goals scored between both teams.

Sandra Paños: 6

was in goal for Barcelona after she was rested for Catalina Coll last week. She came out to collect a couple of balls to stop the opposition’s attacks. can not be blamed for both of Real Sociedad’s goals. She did not have an easy or comfortable time against Real Sociedad’s high pressing, counter-attacks, and constant runs and attacks. The goal came from the left wing, but there was nothing the keeper could have done. Panos was always able to smell the danger and got out quickly to claim the balls.

Marta Torrejón: 6.5

Was as decent as ever in defense and attack and should have been rewarded with an assist or a Barcelona goal. Martha got a shot on goal saved from a header with a fine cross from Caroline Graham Hansen in the 33rd minute. She also almost had an assist in the 44th minute when she laid the ball for Aitana Bonmati.

Irene Parades: 7

An impressive performance from the center-back, who made a couple of solid line-breaking passes and runs from deep and kept the Real Sociedad attackers in check whenever possible. She stopped a couple of the home team’s attacks with her headers, not letting her man get past her. Was solid in defense. She brought out the ball well from the back with her passes.

Mapi León: 6.5

had the responsibility of whooping in the freekicks and taking the corners in the game. Denied a header in the 4th minute of the game, she forced a fine save from the goalkeeper. covered well for Rabano and always won the ball back in ground duels. was a bit exposed to Real Sociedad due to Rabano playing high up the pitch.

Nuri Rabano: 6

One assist. Rabano made a couple of backpasses in the game that could have led to goals for the opposing team. She made the first one in the 8th minute, which was a weak back pass that almost resorted to a goal for the home side. She was getting caught out of her position in the game. It was a mixed game for the left-back, who was playing against her former team. Sometimes she relentlessly presses her marker and doesn’t give them a chance. did well to move the ball forward. Rabano kept playing high up and dispossessing the opposing player but was caught out at times by Real Sociedad wingers and midfielders with neat passes and combinations. Rabano’s defensive actions were shaky given that the two goals came from her wing, but she did fairly well going forward.

Aitana Bonmatí: 8

a goal and an assist. Constantly making herself an attacking option in the opposition’s half. She made a fine cross into the box in the early minutes of the game. was always looking to combine with Caroline Hansen Graham and Mariona Caldentey. Aitana Bonmati almost got her second goal of the game while going past two defenders from a pass she picked up from Martha before being denied by the persistent body blocking of the defense. Wonderful plays by Bonmati allowed Graham Hansen to attack the left wing of the opponent. She almost had a second goal from Caroline Graham Hansen’s pass but was not able to make clean contact.

Keira Walsh: 7

did well to dispose of the Real Sociedad attacks. She stopped a Real Sociedad counter-attack in the 21st minute with a fine interception. Walsh was a defensive presence in the middle of the park and helped to calm the ball down for the Spanish giant. almost put no foot wrong.

Patricia Guijarro: 7

A goal, an assist, and an own goal. A neat finish from Patri’s turn, as she was able to find the bottom corner, opened the scoring for the Catalan team. She combined well with Caldentey with some neat combinations to create some chances. Patri was moved back as the pivot when Walsh was hooked. Scored at both ends, deflecting the ball past Panos. Patri did well in the pivot to block and intercept the ball late in the game.

Caroline Graham Hansen: 9

Two goals and one assist. The in-form player was quiet in the early minutes of the game but laid a fine, well-moved pass for Bonmati to score the third goal. scores a lovely header from a lovely ball from Nuria Rabano. The Norwegian got into the action in the 32nd minute with her lovely header, as she headed the ball across the face of the goal. She was putting crosses in the box. Caroline Graham Hansen did well to hold the ball well while dribbling, cutting inside, and laying passes in the opposition box. Almost added a second in the early minutes of the second half, testing the goalkeeper with two brilliant shots. But she eventually got her second goal and Barcelona’s fifth goal with a trademark cut-in and a left-footed shot into the goal. She was a dangerous threat to Real Sociedad’s goal when given space. Looked for the third goal by playing a couple of audacious shots, but was not able to get it in. A 9-star performance for the player. She also tracked back a lot during the game to help in defense.

Asisat Oshoala: 7

One goal. Got a well-laid ball from Patri and she did well to convert the chance neatly with a power turn and strike. Combined with Caroline Graham Hansen to make one and two passes with their holdup play. Oshoala almost grabbed her second in the 42 minutes from an opponent mistake she capitalized on but was denied by the brilliant keeper. Wasn’t able to make direct contact with a Vicky Lopez low pass to get her second of the game. Didn’t get as many passes as she might have liked in the opponent’s box.

Mariona Caldentey: 7

One assist. tried to feed Asisat Oshoala early in the game but was not able to deliver a nice pass. held the ball well and helped retain possession. A fine assist from her set Patri up for the first goal. She combined well with Nuria Rabano while moving the ball forward. She also almost got a goal with a brilliant run from midfield, where she laid a pass for Caroline Graham Hansen and got a return pass that she wasn’t able to power past the goalkeeper. She was called to action in defense at times, and she covered well for Nuria Rabano’s misplaced pass in the second half of the game.

FC BARCELONA FEMENI SUBSTITUTES

Bruna Vilamala: 5

Bruna almost set up Caroline Graham Hansen for her hat trick with a nice ball, but the opposition defense threw their bodies in the way to deny the Norwegian winger.

Alexia Putellas: 6

Did well to retain ball possession. She started the attack with a neat dribble and a fine long ball that led to Bruna trying to set up Caroline Graham Hansen’s chance for a third goal.

Vicky Lopez: 6

She displays some fancy footwork and works hard to drop deep to collect the ball and join the play and buildup.
