It was another entertaining matchday in the Liga F when Barcelona Femeni turned troublesome visitors for Real Sociedad. The Blaugrana thrashed the Basque team 7-1 at home in an utter show of dominance.
A brilliant performance from Barcelona’s young forward Salma Paralluelo saw the 20-year-old score four goals and claim the Player of the Match award. Goals from Vicky Lopez, Caroline Graham Hansen, and Alexia Putellas completed the rout for the Catalan giants.
The champions took a while to get into gear after kickoff but continued their rampant run once they got the opener. Vicky Lopez opened the scoring with a low driven shot that found the bottom corner of the net in the 15th minute.
An error in defense put Sociedad in trouble in the 22nd minute, and Salma Paralluelo took advantage of the slip-up to score Barcelona’s second goal of the game. The Spanish international sent a beautiful curler into the top corner and opened her account for the night.
Two minutes later, Salma Paralluelo scored her second goal of the game after finishing Caroline Graham Hansen’s cross with a brilliant header. The young forward rose the highest in the box and converted from close range.
An inch-perfect strike from a freekick at the edge of the penalty helped the forward complete a first half hattrick in the 44th minute. Salma Paralluelo’s brilliant freekick struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced into the top of the net to send Barcelona four goals ahead at half time.
Salma Paralluelo struck again in the 51st minute to score her fourth goal of the match. The forward has now scored four goals in a match twice this season.
Caroline Graham Hansen ended her three-game goal drought in the 57th minute after a brilliant exchange with Vicky Lopez set up the Norwegian for Barcelona’s sixth goal of the game.
Alexia Putellas finally returned to action after been sidelined due to injury and got herself on the scoresheet in the 81st minute after been assisted by Lucy Bronze.
A minute later, Real Sociedad got a consolation goal with a brilliant strike from outside the box.
The game finished 7-1 at the end of regulation time and Barcelona extending their lead at the top of the league rankings.
