Barcelona Femeni Women’s World Cup stars were honored in front of the home crowd at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys earlier tonight before the commencement of the La Liga game between Barcelona and Sevilla.
Fifteen players were paraded in front of the fans in recognition of their outstanding performances at the World cup. However, it was double honors for Aitana Bonmati as she was not only presented as a World Cup winner, but also as the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year.

The midfielder presented her UEFA award, which was received with much delight by the home crowd. Aitana Bonmati remains the forerunner and favorite to win the Ballon d’Or award following the nominations announced earlier this month.
