Geyse, who represented Brazil in the World Cup before facing elimination in the group stage, will not be returning to Barcelona after the World Cup as she has resumed training with her new club. Geyse spent one season at Barcelona after she was brought in for free from Madrid CFF following a wonderful season where she was awarded joint winner of the Pichichi with Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala.
The deal, which happens to be the biggest sale in the history of FC Barcelona Femeni, is reportedly said to have been closed at around €300,000. The forward will most likely be guaranteed a regular starting role for Manchester United, as she played backup to Oshoala last season, with 17 stars out of 24 matches played in the Spanish domestic league and 5 stars out of 10 games played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Geyse contributed 10 goals and 7 assists in her time with FC Barcelona Femeni, where she also won the Liga F and the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The forward will be an incredible replacement for Alessia Russo, who left Manchester United to join Arsenal on a free transfer.
