Barcelona Femeni came out victorious in a top-of-the table clash in Liga F when they defeated Levante 3-0. The league champions continued their fine form, extending their run of unbeaten games in their 17th league match this season.
The game between the top two Primera division sides was a tight affair, opened up by only a few goals. The opener came from Barca Femeni forward Salma Paralluelo in the 21st minute. An exchange of passes with Caroline Graham Hansen from a cornerkick led to the Spanish forward firing a beautiful curling shot that found the back of the net.
After the goal, Barcelona tried to double their lead but failed to create any clear goalscoring opportunities. Barcelona repeated the same trick that got them the first goal in the dying minutes of the first half, but the referee had already blown for the halftime break before Paralluelo’s shot found the back of the net.
At the start of the second half, Barca went in search of a second goal but failed, with Caroline Graham Hansen and Mariona Caldentey missing two potential goalscoring chances.
Levante equalized in the 55th minute when Alba Redondo ran in behind the Barcelona defense and finished past Cata Coll.
Barcelona struggled to score a second goal but failed to find the back of the net. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Barcelona dropping points at home for the first time since February 2019.
