It was a moment of redemption for Barcelona Femeni when they faced Levante away from home in the Liga F on Matchday 22. The Blaugrana ended the game with a 5-0 victory over the Valencia based side. Earlier in January, when the first leg of the fixture was played, both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw; a result that ended Barcelona’s 79 game winning streak at home.

However, when both sides locked horns earlier this evening, Barcelona completely blew the hosts out of the game. The Catalan giant dominated the game with their rampant and relentless style of attacking football.

It took only four minutes for the champions to find a breakthrough after a excellent run from Salma Paralluelo. The Spanish forward burst into the box and found Bruna Vilamala at the far post for Barcelona’s first goal.

Provider turned goalscorer in the 34th minute when Barca scored their second goal of the game. Vicky Lopez floated a delightful pass into the penalty area, and Salma Paralluelo calmly brought the ball down with her chest before converting at the near post to put Barcelona two goals ahead at halftime.

It didn’t take long for Barcelona to find the back of the net again after the restart. Five minutes into the start of the second half, Salma Parallluelo teed up Bruna Vilamala, who once again found the bottom corner of the net

Three minutes later, Salma Paralluelo completed a brace of her own when she fired home from close range. A beautiful exchange of passes between Bruna Vilamala and Vicky Lopez resulted in a loose ball. Salma was the quickest to react as the forward pounced on the loose ball to fire home a right-footed half volley.

Barcelona’s fifth goal of the game came in the 67th minute, courtesy of Martina Fernandez. A whipped delivery from a freekick was aimed at Marta Torrejon, whose cutback pass laid the ball for Martina to tap into the back of the net.

There were several attempts on goal by the Blaugrana after scoring their fifth goal, with Claudia Pina coming closest to scoring when her shot struck the crossbar in the 83rd minute.

The game ended 5-0 in favor of the Catalan giants, who maintain their 12 points lead at the top of the league rankings.
