Earlier today, Barcelona Femeni announced the exit of Ana Maria Crnogorcevic from the club. The Switzerland international leaves Barcelona on a full transfer to domestic rivals Atletico Madrid. Crnogorcevic’s exit has sparked a rumor among the club’s fans for a while now as the star failed to return to training after fulfilling her World Cup duties in Switzerland.

Crnogorcevic spent 4 seasons at Barcelona  where she won 11 trophies in total, after moving from Portland Thorns in December 2019. She won three Spanish league titles, three Copa de la Reinas, three Supercopa de Espana, and two Champions League titles. Her time at Barcelona saw her score 21 goals and deliver 20 assists. The Switzerland star will be missed for her versatility on the field, an attribute that makes her a unique talent in the world of women’s football.

With the likes of Geyse Ferreira, and Laia Codina also completing their transfer moves to England, Ana Maria Crnogorcevic joins a list of names that left the Catalan club in this transfer window.

Barcelona Femeni return to action in Liga F on September 10 when they play against Valencia Women at the Estadi Johan Cryuff.
