Barcelona Femeni dropped points at home for the first time since February 2019 when they played a 1-1 draw with Levante on Matchday 17 in the Liga F. The Catalan giants, who have been absolutely untouchable at home, had their winning run brought to an end when they failed to win in front of their home crowd for the first time in over 5 years.
Salma Paralluelo scored Barca Femeni’s only goal in the game in the first half with a beautiful curler that found the bottom corner. However, the Blaugrana wasted many efforts and failed to double their lead.
In the second half, Levante broke loose, and Alba Redondo equalized with a fine finish to put the Catalans in a bind. The league champions struggled to get back ahead but could not find the back of the net and were forced to settle for a draw at home after 79 consecutive wins.
Barca had already had their invincibility questioned earlier in January when they drew 4-4 with Benfica in the Champions League. Despite the result, the Liga F giants still remain at the top of the league standings while being unbeaten this season.
